The Emotional Intelligence of Jesus, 2015

Truly one of the best books I have read over the course of the past 20 years.  The focus of the book is Emotional Intelligence (EQ).  Over the years society has placed a strong emphasis on IQ, but rarely is there a priority placed on our Emotional Intelligence.  A pioneer in the field, Daniel Goleman states that: “IQ may get us the job, but EQ is needed to perform at the highest level.” In the book we see that our Lord, Savior and Mentor Jesus Christ certainly had all of the emotions related to humanity, yet He was self-aware at all times, in tune with the emotions of those around Him, and able to manage the circumstances of those emotions with elevation and dignity.  All behavior has a reason.  As leaders it is vital that we understand that and manage our relationships with a high level of emotional control.  We cannot be human alone.
