These companion books call for strong and effective PLCs plus YOU. Historically, PLCs have focused almost exclusively on students and their learning; however, teachers play a vital role in the equation of teaching and learning. Therefore, individual as well as collaborative expertise needs to be maximized by building self-efficacy as well as the collective efficacy of the learning community. The PLC+ framework supports educators in working together to improve student learning by focusing on these five questions:
1. Where are we going?
2. Where are we now?
3. How do we move learning forward?
4. What did we learn today?
5. Who benefitted and who did not benefit?
